600,000+ Hand-Crafted NPC Animations
ConfirmedRockstar North co-studio head Aaron Garbut told the New York Times that GTA VI has over 600,000 unique NPC animations — more than ten times GTA V's 55,000, and double Red Dead Redemption 2's 300,000. A dedicated team art-directed every single one individually.
Vice City Is Roughly Double the Size of Los Santos
ConfirmedRockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson stated directly that Vice City alone is twice the size of GTA V's Los Santos, and that the built-up areas outside the city are about eleven times larger than GTA V's equivalent. The overall Leonida map is about twice the size of GTA V's full map.
Six-Star Wanted Level Returns, With "Hollow Stars"
ConfirmedShown directly in Rockstar's official Extended Look. The classic six-star wanted system is back, alongside a new twist: at certain wanted levels, police only have a general search radius with no confirmed description of the suspect — a "hollow star" state where getting out of sight is enough to slip away clean.
Tiered Vehicle Theft: Slim Jim vs. Key Cloner
ConfirmedStealing cars is no longer one button. Older, mechanically-locked vehicles can be popped with a Slim Jim mini-game, while modern electronically-secured cars need a key cloner unlocked later in the story. The WAINK phone app lets players scan a vehicle first for its lock type, alarm status, GPS tracker, and resale value.
Fitness and Sleep Are Real Systems Again
ConfirmedRockstar confirmed a San Andreas-style physique system is back — Jason and Lucia visibly gain muscle from working out or weight from overeating. A phone health app also tracks sleep, and poor sleep measurably slows the recovery of certain attributes.
